Six events in 48 hours. How bout it? Between a doubleheader of basketball public address announcing Friday night and back-to-back games in North Andover, it's shaping up to be a busy weekend!

The main event of the weekend is the Merrimack Warriors Women's Hockey team taking the ice this weekend, looking to finish the season strong as they host Maine for a two-game series in North Andover. While this season has not gone the way the Warriors have wanted, they have been in every single game they've played in 2025. Most recently, two one-goal losses last weekend to a very good UNH team that is better than their record would suggest. The Warriors welcome the Black Bears to Lawler Arena for the first and only time this season. Maine defeated Merrimack 3-2 up in Portland back in mid-December with a late 3rd Period goal from Alyssa Wruble being the difference. However, Maine's defense has surrendered the most goals of anyone in the Hockey East. With Merrimack's offense starting to catch fire late in the season, can they take advantage of a Maine defense that has struggled this season and pick up some big conference points? Find out on 2pm this Friday and Saturday as Matt O'Brien and I will have the call on ESPN+ from Lawler Arena!

No better way to spend Valentine's Day than watching two city rivals battle it out for Patriot League supremacy as the North Quincy Boys and Girls Basketball teams host their rivals from Hancock Street, the Quincy High School Presidents. Last season saw one of the best finishes I've ever seen in a basketball game as Quincy's Alyssa Hopps's buzzer-beating layup snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for the Presidents. However, the Raiders won both matchups this season on the road at QHS. The girls will kick us off at 5:30. Alyssa Hopps and Niamh Gendron are leading the charge for the Presidents, with Hopps leading the league in scoring. NQ has won five straight, and Maeve Powers is right behind Hopps in scoring, coming in at #3. The winner takes home the Patriot League Regular Season title. Meanwhile the NQ boys have not lost since taking the first round of the rivalry back in January, winning nine straight games. Captain Kobe Nguyen and Freshman phenom Aidan McGuiness carry the load for the Raiders, ranking #4 and #5 in the league in scoring. They'll have to stop league-leading scorer Yhan Medina and the revenge-seeking Presidents. The Raiders still have a lot to play for as the league title is still at stake. I'll be PA announcing both games and they can both be streamed on QATV's YouTube Channel with the games beginning at 5:30pm!

The city rivalry hits the ice rink on Saturday night as the two schools celebrate their senior night at Quincy Youth Arena. Both teams are having disappointing seasons as they'll be coming in with sub-.500 records and both at the bottom of their respective divisions. Quincy is having trouble scoring and North Quincy has struggled to stop anything, but the Raiders have played more quality opponents and have more talent than the Presidents. This game follows the combined QNQ Girls Hockey team versus the combined teams of Scituate, Norwell, and Abington. The games will begin at 6pm, and I'll be on PA for both games however, there is nowhere to stream them from. I'll put up some highlights from the games later next week.
I have posted a few more reels and highlights on the website! Feel free to check them out, or head to my YouTube Channel where you can find it all!
BIG news next week!
